The beggar and the Stranger

From my childhood days, I am very much into stories. I used to request my grandmothers to narrate one story every night before sleeping. This is one of my very favorite moment of my childhood. I love reading, listening and narrating stories, of all kind ( Motivational, Drama, Romantic, Funny, horror etc.)
So, if this is the case with you,I would love to explore and share more stories with you.
Type 'YES' if you want to drift with me in the pool of stories.
Moving to this, lets just start.
Recently, I bought this book to read named "THE POWER OF NOW" by Eckhart Tolle recommended by one of my friend. I just started reading this book and I wanted to share one story from the book which is quite enlightening. There was a beggar who had been sitting by the side of road for over thirty years. One day a stranger walked by. 'Give me some money ' mumbled the beggar holding out his old cap. 'I have nothing to give you' said the stranger. The stranger noticed that the beggar is sitting on a box. He asked "What's that you are sitting on?" "Nothing just an old box. I have been sitting on it for as long as I can remember." replied the beggar. The stranger then asked curiously "have you ever looked inside?" The beggar said 'No'. "What's the point? There's nothing in there." Then the stranger insisted him to have a look inside. The beggar tried hard to open that box and succeeded. With astonishment, disbelief and shock, he saw that the box was filled with gold.
This book is that stranger who has nothing to give us but to tell us to look inside. And we are that beggar who are seeking our happiness from others. This story is giving a powerful message.

What exactly this story telling us?
Well, what I perceived is to look inside yourself. It is very important to know your true wealth, which is joy of Being, Unshakable peace that comes within.
Like beggar, we are demanding or pleading or expecting from others. We made our happiness, joy, peace dependable on others. And we are doing this from years and years.
We are looking outside for scraps of pleasure or fulfillment, for validation, security or love, while we have a treasure within that not only includes all those things but is infinitely greater than anything the world can offer.
What you guys understand from this Story?
Be motivated
