A leaf, a branch or the roots. You are.........?

Are you a leaf, a branch or the roots?

There are 3 types of people in our lives. People are in our lives are the part of the trees. They are leaves, branches or the roots.
Some people are like leaves of a tree. When the wind blows with it. When the seasons change, they change. They're like a temporary friendships, a summer fling or connection like leaves. They are beautiful in the beginning but eventually they fall away.
After reading this you may coming from few names in your mind that were leaves in your life.
We can appreciate the lessons they brought, we can have gratitude for the moments. They helped us to grow at that time.

"Real friends can't make our problems disappear, but they'll definitely not disappear when we are going through our problems."

The second type of people are in our life are like branches. You have to careful with these  because they can often fool you. They'll make you think that they're good friends. They're really strong and there for you but the minute you step out on them, they can break and fall.
We all of have friends who say "you can rely on me", " 'I'm there for you". But when you follow up with those promises you find that they were hollow.
In our own lives there were moments where we've been branches to others, and had branches in our lives. Often we may have promised a lot and not been able to live up to it because of our shortcomings.

May be now you are realizing that we have to become more honest with ourselves and the people around us.And we need to surround ourselves with people who contribute to our overall emotional, mental, physical well-being.

Then the third type of persons are like the roots. They are permanent in your lives (like your parents, siblings, partner, etc.). Friendships which go through everything. Go through hell and back and grow from it. And still stands strong are friends worth keeping.

" A good friend knows all your best stories, a best friend has been through them with you."

A tree in its life time can have millions of leaves, hundreds of thousands of branches, but a few roots down at the bottom to make sure it gets what it needs.
When you get some roots, hold onto them.

The situations happens to make us realize that we have to grow new ones while the old one is shedding. Accept the role they played. Value the time you had with them.

Not everyone you loose is a lose.                                  -taken from Jay Shetty
